Drinking & Smoking Habits of Young Soldiers and Students

Abstract
A social and medical survey of drinking and smoking atitute of the young men in Korea were conducted with soldiers and students (medical) from January to July in 1967.
Aa a result of these survey the following conclusion has been obtained.
1. 63.9 percentage among soldiers had been drink, and it was nonsignificant between different province. 25.7-39.3 percentage among them begun drinking at 20 years of age. 65.4 percentage among them said that they like to drink continuously, and it was nonsignificant between different schools.
2. Soldiers and students begun smoking at about 20 years of age. 57.2 percentage among soldiers between 21 and 23 years of age have been smoking, and they have been smoking 5-10 piece of cigarettes a day.
22 percentage among students between 17 and 20 yeras of age have been smoking and they smoking 11-20 piece of cigarettes a day.
62.9 percentage among soldiers and 50 percentage among students said that they should be smoking cotinuously in spite of knowing the ill effects of smoking for their haelth.
